Creating, Applying and Editing Named Schedules

| Overview

A Named schedule is a type of schedule that is introduced in the Airoverse system to make scheduling easier for the Facility and the Organization managers. Being an organization manager who handles the BMS for multiple buildings, or a facility manager who handles many zones in a building, it is a tedious and time-consuming task to go and add or update the zone schedules for the individual zones in every building handled. With the introduction of the Named Schedule in the Airoverse system, the organization manager can set schedules for individual zones in multiple buildings. It is achieved with just a selection from a dropdown. When the set schedule is to be changed, making the change in the named schedule created will update the change in all the places the schedule is applied.

| Accessing Named Schedules

The named schedule can be accessed from both Internal and Airoverse for Facilities portals.

From the Airoverse for Facilities portal.

• Click the menu icon and select Named Schedule.

The named schedule screen is displayed.

• Select the organization scope in the select organization field.

Once an organization is selected the screen displays all the named schedules already created for the organization.

The table below explains the fields on the screen.

Field	Description
Search	You can use this field to search for a particular named schedule in the list using keywords if there are a lot of named schedules available for the organization.
Rows per page	You can use this field to select an option for the number of rows of named schedules, that can be listed per page.
Next & Previous screen	You can use this field to toggle between the next and previous pages for the results. if the row per page opted for is minimum.

From the Internal Portal,

• Select Named Schedule from Dropdown tab.

• The Named Schedule list is displayed.

 

| Default Named Schedule

Default named schedule is available named schedules which pre-exist under the named schedule list by default. Salient features of such a named schedule are:

• Names for Default Named schedules of the buildings under an organization cannot be deleted but the parameters can be edited by a user.
• The name and description of such named schedules cannot be edited but the desired temperatures, start and stop time settings can be edited.

The default named schedule can be accessed from the drop-down list of the named schedule list.

Note: In the V2 scheduler, once a new zone is created in the CCU, by default it will follow a Default Named Schedule.

| Creating Named Schedules

To create the named schedules.

• Click the option Add Named Schedule.

The add-named schedule window is displayed.

• Enter the schedule name and description.

Note: Special characters are not allowed in the name of the named schedule.

• Click Save to create the schedule.

The named schedule is created with the default desired user limits and working week schedule.

 

| Editing Named Schedules

To edit the named schedules.

• Click the edit icon next to the schedule.

The schedule edit window is displayed, with the schedules for editing, the option to add a new schedule and a section with the details of the zones to which the named schedule is applied to.

Note: The scheduler interactivity is similar to building occupancy and follows the same actions to add edit or delete occupied or unoccupied slots. 

| Interactivity

The named schedule displays occupied and unoccupied legends which are indicative of the schedule.

• Click the Edit Schedule option to edit the occupancy time slot. For more information on validations regarding scheduling please refer to Scheduler Validations.

• Hovering over the time slot displays the occupancy state (occupied or unoccupied) and time of the building.

 

• The occupancy component displays an interval of 15 minutes for every time slot which is indicative of the occupancy component when the user drags the cursor to select a time slot.

• The user can hover on the left or right edge of an occupied time slot and select the cursor to increase or decrease the time slots.

 

• Click on an occupied time slot to display the delete option of a specific occupied time slot.

• Click on Delete to delete the occupied time slot.

• The occupied time slot is deleted.
• Click on a time slot to copy the parameters of the occupied time slot.

• Click to copy the parameters of the occupied slot.

The copied parameters are displayed on the right bottom.

• Select Cancel Copy Parameters to cancel.

• Ctrl+ Left Click to select multiple time slots.

• Click to paste the parameters for the selected occupied slot/slots.

 

 

• Multiple time slots ranging across multiple days can be created by holding the Shift+ Left Click button and dragging the cursor across the table.

• Multiple time slots ranging across multiple days can be deleted by holding the Ctrl+ Left Click button.

• Click on Delete to delete the selected occupied time slots.

 

• Click Delete to confirm and delete the occupancy for multiple time slots across multiple days.

When the occupied slots are extended for a schedule, then the time tool tip will be displayed over the cursor tool tip for the occupied time slot.

| Extending or Trimming Time Slots

Multiple occupied time slots can be extended or trimmed by clicking Ctrl+Left Click and selecting the time slots and dragging the cursor for one timeslot. The changes are reflected in the rest of the selection.

• Select the Time Slots to be edited.

• Extend or trim the time slot for one of the time slots selected.

The same changes are reflected in the rest of the selection.

Note: The changes reflected will be similar to the change made in one selection in terms of similar time intervals. For example, if a time slot is extended or trimmed by 30 minutes, then a similar change of 30 minutes will be reflected for the rest of the slots.

| Partial & Complete Overlap

Occupied slots can be drawn over other occupied slots if all the slots are overlapped completely in the selection.

• Drag the cursor to overlap the occupied time slots.

The unoccupied slots are completely overlapped.

.

On the contrary, partially drawing the cursor and overlapping over occupied time slots will result in an error pop up.

• Drag the cursor partially to overlap the occupied time slots.

An error message is displayed.

• Clicking on an unoccupied slot will highlight all the unoccupied slots.

Any change in unoccupied setback will be applicable in bulk for all the unoccupied slots.

| Setting up a Named Schedule

• Use the start time and end time drop downs to select the duration of the schedule. (Default values are 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. respectively)
• Use the calendar icon in the applies to the field to select a date.
• Select the minimum cooling user limit and minimum heating user limit. (default minimum values are 67F and 72F and maximum values are 72F and 77F respectively)
• Select the maximum heating user limit and maximum cooling user limit from the dropdown.
• Select the heating deadband and cooling deadband for the schedule from the dropdown. (default values are 2F and 2F respectively)
• Click Save to confirm the changes made to the schedule and finalize the named schedule created.

The confirmation is displayed.

| Applying a Named Schedule

Named schedules can be applied to multiple buildings and zones for an organization. It can also be applied to an individual zone as a separate schedule altogether.

 

| Rules for Editing the Named Schedule Once Applied to Zones

Once a named schedule is applied for a zone or zones in the same building or multiple buildings. The named schedule creation screen displays the details of the same as below.

Changes Observed in Audit Trail

 

 

Any changes in the name schedule will appear in the Audit Trail for actions such as Add, Edit, and Delete.

• If a named schedule is created, the audit trail will capture it as an 'Added' action; will capture the name of the named schedule; schedule entry Mon-Sun, desired temps, and start/end time for each entry. 
• If a named schedule is deleted, the audit trail will capture it as a 'Deleted' action, which will capture the name of the named schedule. 
• Audit trail will also capture if a named schedule is applied to any zone, or any other schedule applied.
•  If the schedule is changed from any zone to Named Schedule. It will capture it as 'Edited', and will capture the name of the zone, and the change.

| Bulk Push & Revert

The bulk push feature for named schedules helps in applying named schedules across multiple zones in one or many buildings under an organization in one go. This provides the user with seamless interaction for named schedule applications across zones for a particular organization.

The Airoverse for Facilities landing page has the list of organizations and the sites associated with it to which the user has access.

• Select the Scheduling tab.

The Scheduling page is displayed.

All the scheduling aspects for the selected building are available under the scheduling tab in a consolidated format. The default named schedule is available at the top of the schedule list. A default-named schedule cannot be edited.

From the add zones tab,

• Select the system from the dropdown list.
• Select the zone tag.
• Organization and Scope name is pre-selected.

• Select expand to view the entire dropdown list.

The named schedule can be applied by checking the "Select All" boxes for all zones available under the building a one go.

All the zones applied to the schedule can be observed from the list.

The feature also allows the user to revert all changes made to the zones for the building by selecting the revert option from the schedule screen. The revert functionality in the named schedule provides the capability of pulling applied named schedules back from the applied zones. This will be applicable to only the zones where named schedule is applied.

• Click Revert to Zone Schedule

 

• Select the applicable check box to revert the schedule back to Zone schedule.

Note:  Once a named schedule is reverted back from a zone, the zone is expected to fall back to the previously active zone schedule.

| Non-Zero Deadband

This feature ensures that the heating and cooling deadband can be set to a minimum of 0.5°F, preventing a zero deadband scenario and ensuring compliance with Guideline 36. By implementing this, the heating and cooling desired temperatures will never be equal, even if set to their minimum values and there will always be a difference of 1F between the heating and cooling deadband.

| Scheduler Interactivity Enhancement

The enhanced scheduler interactivity allows users to seamlessly edit and copy/paste values for temperatures, user limits, and deadband of occupied slots, ensuring these changes are consistently applied across multiple slots. Additionally, all user edits are captured on the UI until saved.

In a Named Schedule following a 7-day scheduler group,

• Change values for desired temperatures, user limits or deadband as required.

• Select and copy time slot from the schedule.

• Select CTRL+Click to paste the parameters without saving the schedule.

The parameters are pasted for the selected timeslots.

• Click save schedule to confirm the changes.
