Temperature Modes - HyperStat/ HyperStat Split Connected to CCU

| Introduction

The temperature mode enhancement allows users to select their preferred temperature mode for a site, offering a choice between a dual setpoint with either a fixed or variable deadband. The current UI on the CCU and portals supports these two modes, adjusted based on configuration settings and user intent. The interface displays either the heating or cooling desired temperature, with the other hidden, and interaction with the UI adapts according to site preferences, providing either a fixed or variable approach to temperature control. On the Hyperstat, a "Single Setpoint" mode is available, where heating and cooling occur above and below a single setpoint with a deadband; however, this mode has not been implemented on the CCU.

This feature ensures that the entire site operates consistently in the chosen mode across Hyperstat and Hyperstat Split as of now. For users who prefer not to adjust both temperatures, the system offers the flexibility to manage this within the Airoverse system. The temperature mode can now be changed in the internal portal within Airoverse for Facilities Assist under remote installer options. 

Note: The default temperature mode is dual setpoint with fixed variable.

 For new sites, the default temperature mode will be "Fixed Deadband," while migrated sites will be using the "Dual Setpoint Variable Deadband" mode.

There are two temperature modes which are considered:

1. Dual Setpoint Fixed Deadband

In this scenario, the heating and cooling desired temperatures have a fixed deadband, and either the heating or cooling desired temperatures can be adjusted in a single instance. Adjusting one user limit would modify the set user limits of the other.

Consider a scenario where the heating desired temperature is set between 66°F and 72°F, and the cooling desired temperature is set between 70°F and 78°F, with a deadband of 1°F for both heating and cooling. Changing the user limits for one will automatically adjust the limits for the other, and vice versa.

2. Dual Setpoint Variable Deadband

Under this scenario, the difference between the heating and cooling temperatures need not always adhere to the sum of the heating deadband and cooling deadband.

Consider a scenario where the heating desired temperature is 66°F and the cooling desired temperature is 74°F, with heating and cooling deadbands of 1°F each. This results in a temperature difference of 8°F between the desired temperatures, while the sum of the deadbands is 2°F. In this case, under the dual setpoint variable deadband scenario, the difference between the values can be limited to or exceed 2°F.

• Select the Airoverse for Facilities Assist tab

The Airoverse for Facilities Assist page is displayed.

• Select the Building options from the page

• Select the Dual Setpoint Fixed Deadband or Dual Setpoint Variable Deadband

| Temperature modes in CCU

In the CCU,

• Select the Settings Tab

• Scroll to Temperature Limits

• Select the required temperature mode

The temperature mode is selected.

Note: Post migration, all the existing sites would follow the dual setpoint variable deadband.

For new sites registered, the sites would follow the dual setpoint fixed deadband.
